Title:
Antivirus Solution for the Lebanese Administration.

General Description and Background:
Throughout the years, different Lebanese Government Administrations acquired different Antivirus solutions; for the sake of having a standardized, well-managed infrastructure and unified security procedures and policies at the Lebanese Administrations, this project was launched in 2016. OMSAR, for the purpose of acquiring a specific Antivirus product, has elected to do all the following work to make sure we are selecting the right product:
•    Launch a survey to get some feedback from the Administrations regarding their acquired Antivirus solution, their level of satisfaction and the number of relative users;
•    Research on the leading Antiviruses ranked by international ranking and testing companies (Gartner, NSSLAB, …..)
•    Conduct a comparison study on the leading Antivirus solution in the market, their features, functionalities, management,   installation, efficiency, applied policies ...etc.
•    Assess the number of requests from the Administrations.

As a result of the above, and as a first step in the process of standardizing the antivirus solutions at the Lebanese Administrations, Kaspersky Licenses percentage is marginally higher in comparison to other solutions at the Lebanese public administrations, with very positive feedback and a large number of implementation requests.

As such, the purpose of this project is to acquire Kaspersky Total Security for Business solution to be implemented at the public administrations on a need basis. Official requests from the government administrations specifying the number and the type (Physical or virtual) of licenses will be sent to OMSAR; accordingly, OMSAR will assess the requests and validate the eligibility of these entities to benefit from this project.

Objective:
In today's corporate environment, the threat from virus infection has become a very serious issue. The quality, configuration and implementation of antivirus protection play a vital role in protecting the administration’s assets, resources, data and the image projected to the outside world.

Thus, the objectives and expectations of this project is to have an enterprise Anti-Virus product to be implemented across the Lebanese Public Administrations,  and to, through the role of OMSAR, standardize the methodology of implementing this solution via unified and clear technology framework which will lead for proactively building a secured, well-managed infrastructure for the Lebanese government.

Specifically, it is expected that through this project the Lebanese government will benefit from:
•    Low cost of Antivirus licenses;
•    Standardized and unified security procedures and policies;
•    Easy and fast roll-out of security and policies;
•    Centralized management;
•    Enterprise support;
•    Fast and effective spread of lessons learnt and know-how.
