Scope:

The project aims to establish and equip a sorting and composting lab with a capacity of 150 tons / day and implement an awareness campaign for citizens.

Specific Objectives:

The lab includes a truck-weighing unit and a waste reception unit. It includes a bag opening machine, a sorting unit consisting of an advanced mechanical sieve, a magnet, a manual sorting line, a pile-processing composting unit, recycling units, a sieve for compost and a bio filter for odor treatment.
The composting unit includes areas in the mature stage of fermentation and screening.
 Like other laboratories, a basic awareness campaign was introduced to motivate the citizen and introduce him to the methods of managing the municipal sorting plant and sorting waste from the source.

Results to be achieved:

  • Completing a sanitary landfill for exhausts beside the factory.
  • Launching a tender for operation and maintenance of the laboratory and effective and periodic monitoring of the commitment that operates the laboratory and the application of the technical conditions contained in the letter of His Excellency the Minister No. 602 / r dated 26/11/2012.
  • Rehabilitation and closure of the Kayal landfill.
